My poor Nikes*my ONLY pair of shoes in Sheffield too* died on me.

The sole on my right foot completely gave way.

The left shoe must have felt left out with all the attention Mr Right Shoe was getting so

I decided to get more than onE pair of shoes because I figured that if I kept using the same pair THEY'D give way sooner or later too.

So I bought this boring but ubeR comfortable pair of flat pumps for walking.

I swear, if I were in Malaysia, I wouldn't be caught deaD in these.

I guess UK really changes you :p

And because I thought black was oh-so-boring-and-unSherve-like....

Seriously, I wouldn't have looked twice at these shoes back home but I can't, absolutely CANNOT wear heels if I were to walk everywhere.

I diD however make one little exception.

Because the price they were selling for was absolutely, unbelievably LOW.

And maybe also because they were 5 inch tall and made me feel oh-so-tall :D, but just maybe. :p

I know my blog has gotten pretty depressing for the last few days so on a jakun note,

I flipped open a British newspaper a few days ago and saw this, right on the second page.

Tying up loose ends

I don't know where I should start...

From the beginning?

No. Reminiscing would hurt too much.

I'll start from the end then.



It just stopped raining and the air was chillier than the average Malaysian night.

The perfect setting for goodbye.

A thousand thoughts flashed past as I hugged you goodbye,

"Why did God let me meet you noW?"
"why not three years earlier or perhaps four years later?"
"why let me fall in this critical situation?"
"why you?"


Honestly, a part of me did not want to let go that cold significant night, but the stronger, wiser, more dominant me was already slowly unclenching myself from our embrace with resolve to let go of you, physically and mentally.

Once I let go though,the tears suddenly started and I hugged you tightly once more.

Maybe I shouldn't have. Perhaps if I didn't, it would have been so much easier.

I hope that in time I caN totally let go because I just know that it will hurt so badly if I don't do it now.


Today I saw two planes fly simultaneously in the sky , in opposite directions, and I suddenly thought of you. I wanted to capture a photograph of those two planes together because I know how much you adore planes.
The planes were too fast though and all I managed to get a picture of was

I dreamt last night that I returned to Malaysia crippled and wheelchair bound.

My freedom to move around was restricted and people had to help me wherever I wanted to go.

I hated being patronized, people looking at me condescendingly and thinking that I was helpless just because I couldn't walk.

Most of all, I hated the numbness in my legs,
the restriction of my ability to run, walk, dance and prance.

I woke up in deep thought and cold sweat.

In some way, I guess the dream was a metaphor to reality.

Mommy sold my car so I'll be car-less when I get home, that's a little similiar to the restrictions of not being able to walk, no?

Not as bad... but similiar in a way because I love having my car and the freedom it represents so I can just go out whenever I want to and not have to wait until someone wants to go somewhere before I even get the chance to.

But that, I'll start worrying about when I touch down on home grounds.

For now, I'm grateful for my own two feet and legs because people in Sheffield walk everywhere. :/

Blog summary Part1

I just realised that it has been one year since I started on this blog.

One short year with so many eventful occurances..

Starting with September 2005...

I was still pretty much hung up over my last break up, I was over him but there was still a void in my life.
Like I said before, I don't let go very easy. : /

October, I was already feeling much better and was up and about.

I remember pondering over which course I should do and what University I should go to.

I picked Bristol but I ended up coming to Sheffield. The irony! : )

And October also heralded Halloween, which I celebrated in Zouk.

I went as the Devil's Curse to men while Marcus went as God's gift to women.

Halloween was also memorable because it was the first time I clubbed with my future Uni best friend, JunChin!

November started off with Ali's birthday at Breakers which EeLin organized.

By the end of the day, Ali had made out with Uzzaam and we had a video to prove it. :D

November was also the month I had dinner wth Sehen and got into the wrong car by mistake.**read! hilarious!** XD

It was also when I opened my big mouth when I shouldn't and said a lot of things I should NOT have said : (

Boo me. :S

Thus, December kicked off with a pretty terrible start and that was when I decided to stop being so public and not reveal so much on my blog.

It got better of course. : )

How can Christmas ever be bad?

This was also the month I accompanied Marcus to get his FIRST tattoo done.

Then, 2005 ended and 2006 started. : )

The drug is also known to cause internal bleeding and according to a friend, you are not even allowed vigorous exercise while on the drug or else you pass out and die.
*heehee kidding :p you just pass out and get a bad nosebleed :p*

For my case, the consequence of taking Isotrenin *also known as Roaccutane* that most affects me is the dryness.
Thanks to the drug, my skin and hair can get VERY dry.
Especially my hair. Zzz

My lips are VERY VERY dry when I am on the pill.
I have also known people suffering from chronic dryness of the lips even after they stop their consumation.

Now, I think I might be one of them, I hope I'm not. : (

I admit, my patience has been wearing thin and stress levels have gone up a considerable amount during the last few days I have left in Malaysia.

VISA application was shit. I actually waited FIVE hours to get ONE VISA done. You’d think they’d speed up the process considering the exorbitant amount of cash they make you pay for a VISA.

To top everything off, mommy and I haven’t been having the best out of the best of relationships lately. We disagree at everything and minuscule details spark off major fight fests. I feel that both of us are liable but being the person she is, she won’t admit it. Doesn’t matter, really. The only thing I hope for is that I won’t be leaving Malaysia with mom and I pissed at each other.

Today I witnessed an incident involving this girl and her mom. Her mother had a soft vulnerable voice and was telling her daughter what she should try doing. The girl didn’t even wait for her mom to finish her sentences before snapping back in harsh tones.

My first instinct told me that this girl seemed like the most horrible person ever. I mean, to bite the hand that was offering you help… HELLO??
However, I then realized that *I* practically did the same thing. Given, mom doesn’t exactly have soft spoken qualities and she sounds like she’s shouting every time she talks *the side effects of being a teacher and having to project your voice in a classroom of 40*: X
It hit me like a smack in the face. That girl could have just been me! 0_O

Maybe she HAD her reasons for snapping back. Nevertheless, onlookers wouldn’t know and automatically assume her behavior atrocious.

That occurrence unquestionably made me think twice about mom and I and I will most definitely think thrice, fouple and fiver times before I retort rudely to mommy in the future.

I've been really, really busy for the past few days settling obligatory minuscule details.

but each time I see showers of firework cinders shooting towards earth, I never fail to be gripped with a slight paranoia that somehow, one will reach me and burn my hair off or something :p

Call me weird but that is actually one of the reasons I go to watch fireworks.

Well, the initial plan was for CheeKeong to pick me up after his job at Camp5 and head to Harold and Darren's farewell.

Since the turning into Ikano was hellavu jammed up *thanks to the street party* I told him to pick me up from my-special-shortcut-to-the-Curve.

Unfortunately, he heard me wrong and HE spent his first few minutes of Merdeka gazing at the fireworks while caught in a jam while I was lucky enough to watch them with John : )

John is FREAKING nice because he walked me all the way to where CheeKeong was supposed to pick me anD waited with me for an hour. Freaking, freaking, freaking nice.
