Bulgari: 3 Things That Make Me Green With Envy.

tagged by That-Girl-Cynthia.

Three: Girls with healthy skin and hair.

Compare and contrast.

sans makeup.

I've been on and off medication for my skin, which is why it looks relatively okay in the pictures.
Furthermore, my pores are hideous! They're like gaping volcanos.
Too bad there isn't any medication for minimising pores short of drastic plastic surgery or skin grafts. :p

I DO envy those girls who have naturally healthy skin without having to do anything!

My hair, on the other hand, is:
(1) Dry,
(2) Frizzy,
(3) Sparse (ie. I'm balding... at 21!! -_-)
(4) Fine.

Worst combination in the world!

Many have passed comments that I'll look like this 10 years down the road.
Smeagol from Lord of the Rings. -_-

Compare and Contrast.
*glee :p*

Two: I really envy people who express themselves well, be it vocally or through writing.

Chloe-Purpleism
The Boyfriend
Elaine-Best-Friend
Wei Yein
PinkPau

to name a few. These people have a certain flair for stringing words together.

I am not very vocal when it comes to my feelings or opinions.
When I'm sad, frustrated or angry, I usually take it out physically, cry until I feel better or write nonsensical fairy tales that really don't make any sense.
shooo cute! :p

There's just this barrier that keeps me from expressing myself intelligibly.
Ugh. :(

ONE:
The little girl in the picture below makes me green with envy
Simply because
(1) She's by the beach basking in the glorious sunshine while I am stuck in England with its famous erratic, dreary weather.
(2) She doesn't have a care in the world.
Okay lah, maybe one or two... like how big her mouth can open before the wind blows sand in.
(3) She's with her mommy. :(
I miss my mommy. :(
(4) She's got nice skin !@#$%^
(5) SHE CAN FIT INTO THE FREAKING PELAMPUNG THINGGIE!!!oneoneone!!
Now even if I can fit into it.... I'll probably only dare swim around with it in a private pool... in the dark... with no one watching. heh. :p

On another note, I shall be closing and locking this blog in a few days time.
I've been very lucky to have attracted nice readers who only leave lovely comments.
No dramamama at this blog, thank God. :)

I'll be blogging elsewhere.
Not linking that though.
I'd like a blog that is more private, with more rant space and less people judging.

Moreover, Sherve dot blogspot dot com is like a treasure chest of my misdeeds. A simple google search for "Sher Vin Lum" or "Shervin Lum" leads you straight here.
Gosh, all the clubbing pictures, the silly musings and lame jokes galore.
What impression would I give my future employers?

It's about time I grew up a little bit more...

Thanks so much for the custom and the sweet comments. I'm not gone from the blogesphere, no worries.

You'll just have to find me. ;)

Shine.

Many pictures without the proportionate amount of words because I'm typing this while watching The Gem of Life and I'm probably the worst person ever to attempt multi-tasking.

Went clubbing last night (Friday) after a long, long hiatus from the whole scene.
I had too much of a clubbing overdose over Summer, so much so that it became routine and mundane.

I guess I'm still stuck in the 'clubbing-is-yawn' rut because no matter how much I tried to psych myself, even when everyone was raving about how fun it was and despite the DJ playing many of my current favourite music, it still wasn't as fun as how I used to perceive it to be.

Nevertheless, it was amazing how they transformed the University hall into a club.
Space, the event I attended, is a University hosted club night that happens every Friday.

It is held in one of the University halls itself. *Yes, my uni transforms into a club at night, how cool is that :p*
My University actually has its own bar and a few other rooms that are used for clubbing events. So it's actually nothing new.
However, this one stands out because it is held in the same hall I take my exams!
Imagine clubbing at the same place you sit for exams- major cool! *nerdy grin*

Exam hall by day, crazy happening club at night.

My outfit:
Sequin Chiffon top- Topshop; Waisted belt- Topshop; Shiny disco leggings- Urban Outfitters; Bangles- Assorted.

Soooooo many people are down in Sheffield this weekend from all over England.
There was also Meng Fai who came down from Australia(?) to visit his girlfriend.

Below are the pictures.
I'm not even going to bother with the captioning.
Am to lazyyyyy. :p
Too many names to caption.

One thing I noticed from the pictures is an obvious weight gain on my part. 0_o

Joule commented on my weight when he was over a few days back.
I brushed it off thinking I looked a bit wider because of what I was wearing.

Can't live in denial any longer- pictures don't lie!

I'm too lazy to do anything about it though.
I eat healthily and I exercise regularly. I think that's good enough.

Moreover, I don't really want to cut down on my food or have the time to up my workouts. I don't see the need to as well.
It's not like I'm prepping for a beauty pageant or anything, so yeah. :D

I wrote this in my Multiply blog once *click*:

"I find it cute when couples grow fat together...

I guess people really do get complacent when they are deeply in love.

As JunChin said,
"you know someone loves you no matter how you look."

:)
"

xx

I'm probably getting a bit too complacent in this relationship.

The thing about Tjer is... he doesn't get fat. -_-

He leaves all that to me- double the fatness! *look of horror*

hehehehe. :p

Anyway, sorry for digressing.

Lipstick.

Due to the recession, stores have been pulling various gimmicks to increase consumerism.
It's been one sale after another- endless sales!

I was walking past MAC today and the huge "SALE" sign caught my attention.

MAC (the makeup brand, not the computer) is hardly ever on sale!

Better yet, it was 10% off every single item in store!
*salivates*

Consequently, I thought it'd be a good time to indulge in something I have been wanting for quite some time now...

Inspiration: Jen Brill
Red Lipstick!

lipstick

Mmmm.
What say you?

The colour I got is actually a much stronger red than what is depicted in the pictures.

After the makeup artist dabbed the lipstick on me, I:

-drank coffee,
-ate a wrap sandwich,
-drank water,
-had pizza.

Thus, you can imagine how faded the lip colour was by the time I took these set of photographs.
hee. :p

I loved the outcome when she first applied the lip colour on me though! Tres chic. :D:D:D

Will post pictures of the original colour when I use my red lippie next.

My housemate Nick is so sweet!

It was his girlfriend's birthday and he did so many things for her!

Throwing her a surprise party with pretty cupcakes and candles was only part of it-

aww.

Cupcakes.

He's such a Prince Charming. :))

Watching them made me miss MY Prince Charming.

He's coming to visit in a month! I can't wait! :))))))))))))

Drama Mama.

Outfit #1:

for a dimsum brunch! *hearts*
scoop neck long-sleeved T, boots, tights: Topshop; bangles: thrifted/ Topshop waistcoat: Warehouse; weaved belt: Dorothy Perkins; scarf: TieRack; brown tote: RiverIsland.

Outfit #2:

Nautical T: H&M; Jeggings: ASOS; patent MaryJanes: Dorothy Perkins; Bag: Balenciaga; Bangles: Pearls from a random stall in KL and blinged up bracelet from Accessorize.

for dinner with the DJ-ians- JunChin, Adrian and Joule.
We went to this Italian restaurant, Strada.

I had calves' liver which tasted distinctly like foie gras- something to temporarily satiate my foie gras craving. It was finger licking good!

However, the creme de la creme had to be our chocolate pudding dessert, topped with vanilla ice cream. It was a tiny slice of chocolate heaven served on a platter.
Awesome. :)

What made it all even better were our two for one vouchers. Great Italian food for half the price! I love being a student. *grins*

The boyfriend and I have both been very anti-social. Instead of going out with friends, we prefer staying home.
Our reason?
Webcam sex To watch dramas.
We don't even talk to one another. We just plough through episodes of Gem of Life on our individual laptops.

He's about 15 or so episodes ahead of me and he's so horrible about it! Everytime I want to stop drama-ing to actually do something productive, he'll dangle juicy information about what happens to a particular character in the next episode. It makes me want to continue watching! -_-

So far, I've been getting minimum sleep. I've also probably been gaining weight since watching dramas gives me this incessant urge to munch on something, anything!

I swear I'm going to take revenge soon. hoho! My master plan is to catch up on the dramas while he's working. When I'm finally ahead of him, I'll spoil his show by telling him in detail everything that happens. Hee! So fun! :p

Judging from what we do for fun, we're just about the most boring couple in the world, huh?
heh. :p

xxx

ps. I just ebay-ed this Tshirt:
It says 'Save the Drama for your Mama', which is what I shoulD be doing.

Gem of Life is killing my productivity!

xxx

pps. A strand of my pearl bracelets *the ones pictured in Outfit #2* snapped. :(
Anyone know of any stall/ store in KL that sells them? I love my pearl bracelets so and the ones here are so overpriced! I think I bought mine for about RM10- 15 per strand? Help will be greatly appreciated!

God, whaT was I thinking when I said I wanted to be bone skinny??

That was obviously before I set eyes on Donatella Versace in a bikini...
The horror! 0_O
My hair was literally at its ends when I saw the pictures. There are more, but I wouldn't want to torture you guys with them.
ugh! ugh! ugh! *scrunches nose*

I guess this illustrates the cliche 'you should be careful what you wish for' eh?

Red.

One of the boyfriend's favourite colours is red. :)

red

Favourite girl + Favourite colour = ?

I've never been very good at Math. :p

I swam laps today, about twenty plus or so. I didn't really keep count.
When I do monotonous workouts such as swimming or jogging, my mind wanders everywhere.
I thought many things while doing the breaststroke today. There was one that I thought I should jot down somewhere and figured, hey, why not here?

You cannot say you're in love when you hold someone's hand and feel warm fuzzy feelings.
Neither does it count that everything feels perfect when you kiss.
Being in love does not mean merely thinking your partner is the most beautiful.
It also does not count if you spent your whole paycheck making your significant other happy.

What then, is love?

Love is when you swallow all your complaints when you had a very bad day because you know your partner had it worst.
Love is when you had the worst day of your life but you still take time to listen to your significant other rant about his/her day.

Love is when your partner throws up in your mouth and you still get that warm fuzzy feeling.

Love is when you still think he or she is the most beautiful when they actually look like one of the Orcs in Lord of the Rings to others... or when you're surrounded by beautiful people all the time but still think your partner outshines them all.

Love is when you stay to work things out even though your partner threw the bitchfit of the century.
Love is not saying 'I can't take this anymore' when you fight.
Love is treating your other half with care and respect. It also requires you to take your other half's feelings into consideration. You no longer think in terms of 'you' or 'me' but 'us'.

Love is when you do not need instant gratification. You're willing to wait because you know the pot of gold lies at the end of that rainbow you both share.

xxx

Okay, so I added the last one because I'm in a long distance relationship. If you didn't understand my quote about rainbows, the boyfriend's post on long distance relationships should make it pretty clear *click to read!*.

Love does require quite a lot of hard work after all, huh?

Acid Washed

I have always been a fan of light washed jeans.

My body is pretty much carrot shaped- huge on top, small at the bottom.
Hence, I'd like to think that light washed jeans balances my body proportions. It makes me look like I have a bigger bottom to complement my bigger sized upper body!

Yet, since my ass is practically non-existent, it is extremely difficult to find a pair of jeans that hugs my butt just right.

I bought these pair of acid washes at Topshop:

jeans

I'm in loveeeee with the wash, the fit not so.
It is loose around my ass when it shouldn't be! *no pictures of my ass though... I tried taking some but it just looked too obscene. heehee :D*

Moreover, I'm a firm believer of the rule that new jeans should sit a little too tight because jeans ALWAYS stretch.

What do you think?
To keep or not to keep?

Eye-candy!

Studded bangles are loveeeee.

MoJo-JoeJoe.

Sigh.
My baby brother is growing up so fast.

Picture pau-ed from his FB, credits to whoever took it. :p

This boy in blue is my baby brother.
His name is Joe Shen. The people close to him call him Joe or JoeJoe.

I have always liked, and still like, to distort his name into tongue twisters and monikers- MoJoJoeJoe, JuJu, Joey, KuKuJoe, AhJoe-ah-Joe *said in a very China-Beng slang* being a few of the many. It is fun! Can you think of any? :p

Although it may now be hard to believe, this boy was once upon a time VERY MUCH shorter than I was.

It was a long long time ago though- a time when we used to hide in kitchen cabinets for fun and a time when he was obsessed with emulating me.

*ehem* Wah. I sit damn kangkang last time. :p

That little boy is all grown up now!

Sighs again.

He's now taller than I am and no longer sees the need to copy everything I do.

However, he iS still prettier than me.
He also continues to steal from my closet. *Shifty eyes*

The sudden post about my brother is because he just flew to Sydney to continue his tertiery education.

I was not in Malaysia when he left but there was still this pang present.
Afterall, the UK and Australia have totally separate Summer holidays. Who knows when will be the next time I get to see brobro?

Joe and SerSiang.
Picture from his farewell, also taken off his FB..
*awww.... he wore the shirt I got him! *hearts**

I'm hoping he doesn't get married to some Australian chick and move there permanently. *scrunches nose*
Even if he does, at least move back to Malaysia!
0_O

Alternately, random pictures because everyone loves random pictures:

#1: 2 for 1 vouchers to fancy-pancy restaurants that are great for students like me who are on a tight budget.
*tight budget because of my shopping obsession, not because parents don't give money. heh.*

#2: The card I made for Tjer!
Baby! You still haven't told me if you liked the card!

#3: There is just something about pink/nudish colours that I find very attractive lately, and no... it's not just because Valentine's Day just came and went.

#4: Just incase you forget how I look like.
*As if that could ever happen with the multitude of pictures splattered all over. heehee. :p*

Oh, I've decided to put more effort into dressing up. I have an abundant of clothes that I do noT wear. I always stick to the same few pieces!
It is easy to fall into outfit monotony when the weather is as biting cold as it was last week. All you want to do is bundle up in your thickest, warmest clothing. What fashion?! That word simply does not exist when the temperature is consistently sub-zero.

Thankfully, capricious Mother Nature has thrown us a temporary(?) warm spell.
The daytime weather now stands around 11 to 12 degrees.

I can finally be more versatile with a wider choice of clothing that does not simply mean throwing on everything I own just to stay warm. I subsequently just end up looking like a christmas bauble- round.

To force myself to stick to this resolution, I will constantly take and post outfit pictures like how I used to eons ago.

Hopefully that will act as an incentive for me to dress better?
