Shame Shame.

I have been entrusted the task of planning my parents' visit to England for my graduation.

After spending some time poring over 'Things to do in London' sites, I came across this restaurant that holds burlesque performances while its customers dine.
I thought it was something worth experiencing... it was not expensive, and a burlesque dinner would be memorable and unconventional!

Unfortunately, they didn't do any performances on the nights I wanted. It was back to the drawing board for me... I went on Google and searched for more burlesque dining experiences.

You can imagine my glee when I found this other restaurant that reportedly had burlesque performances... on the day I wanted!
However, the advertisement wasn't the restaurant's website itself but was on a travel and dining page. All that was available was a phone number at the bottom of the page and a phone number to call 'for more assistance'.

Upon calling, a male waiter answered, and I asked,
"I'd like to book a table for three... on the burlesque night please."

He sounded absolutely befuddled and confused
"huh?? burlesque??"

"Yeah! The one advertised on XXX! The burlesque night on the 21st of July!"

"I'm sorry m'am.... We don't have a burlesque night on the 21st of July... In fact, our restaurant does not do burlesque. Which website did you get that information from?"

That's when I re-checked properly...
The dates advertised were for July 2008! -_- -_- -_- -_-

I apologised profusely and shamefully hung up.

I can imagine that my call would have been their 'joke of the day'.
Oh the embarrassment. -_-
